I've been to Phil's numerous times over the years and it's always been ok. I recently bought the full RX7 rubber seal kit off Ebay and apart from slow postage I got what I paid for. They contacted me by phone to say one part was on back-order but the rest could be sent. I received all the in-stock parts a few days after they called, just waiting on the other bits now

last thursday was told my item would be shipped and they even took all my card details.

called them saturday asking was the package shipped...was told there wasnt even an invoice and they will call me monday morning.

after not receiving a call i called them at lunch and was told it would be shipped express post and receive it tuesday.

it is now thursday and TNT said it was not express posted but they used the cheapest option (while charging me express post rates).

shit customer service, hopless.

Strange Phil is not open Saturdays never has been.PM me your details and I will check into it

I went there on a Saturday morning when he was at Albion. He/mechanic gave me the 3 small nuts for free to bolt on my fuel pump on my RX3

It looks like Phil's have been busy listing deals (scrub that) dills of the day. About a dozen of their rusted out wrecks are listed on ebay in the 1000-1800 price bracket as "Shells for spare parts", along with lovely descriptions as "Capella Piston Version RX2" and "929 Piston Version RX4 SEDAN". Included are such gems as the 1300 wagon that was "$700 save it from going to scrap" last year, now only $1700. You'd be lucky to be able to salvage anything from these, going on the photos.

Are they moving? Strapped for cash? Dreamers?

Or am I just to cynical?

Well... the dreamers don't exactly sell the shit here either, do they? They just get laughed at.

And... he's just put his prices up! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-CAPELLA-RX2-BODY-SHELL-FOR-SPARE-PARTS-/141179209389 Now only $3300. And our $700 1300 wagon is now only $2700 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-1300-2-DOOR-WAGON-BODY-SHELL-SPARE-PARTS-/121265616581?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c3bfe76c5. Pretty much doubled the price of everything.
Is it April 1 or something?

Have never had a problem dealing with Phil over the past 17 or so years, he's always been good to us. Having said that, we looked at a rx7 he had for sale a few months back. On the day he wanted $5500 for it, within a couple of hours was listed on Ebay for $7900 and notice he now is trying to sell it for $15000. That I don't get!

Having looked at the last few posts and having dealt with his company over a long period since my first rotor, most experiences were fine as long as you don't need it today.

I wouldn't say I'm a cheerleader but I recently bought the RX7 seal kit off Ebay and it took about 2wks before they contacted me and said the weather strips hadn't come into stock. They part-shipped the rest (some of which were genuine Mazda parts). Then around the time I thought it'd been too long and they'd forgotten about my back order I received delivery of the missing seals.

He's not the most timely but you will get what you've paid for, as long as you buy it at a reasonable price and don't expect it tomorrow.

Say what you will, he does carry a lot of parts that aren't available anywhere else. Some of the repro stuff actually isn't that bad. I'm a bit pissed, as a few of the bits I wanted aren't available anymore and no more stock is going to come in. Should have jumped on when I had the chance :x
