hey guys and girls
i am having trouble working out what model of car i have
its a rx7 (1st Gen) and it looks like a series 3 but im not sure
it has the series 3 wheels, fuel filler cap, front guards, apron, brakes and diff. It also has the ribs on the top of the strut towers. but the build date of the car is may 1983 and the compliance date is november 1983.
so i believe its a series 3
but just this week dad brought a series 2 rx7 that had the series 2 front apron, guards, wheels, diff and brakes as well as no ribs on the strut towers. the only series 3 thing it has on it is the series 3 fuel filler cap, without the lock on the flap. but this car is june build and october compliance
im just unsure of what both cars actually are
any help would be great
thanks

The nice set includes Mirror switches in the shifter bezel!( for Guard mirrors)

Does the s1 fuse box in the interior under the dash on drivers side come with a lid ?? If so can someone take a pic of it and what fuses are what?? Or sell me one :)

Looks like Series 1 going buy the centre console.
Note the savannah front fender review mirror.
If speedo reads 180km max then savannah I guess.
I'm sure others should be able to help shed some light.

just thought id mention the chassis numbers on first page dont match my car either.second time its been mentioned.not sure if OP is still updating or not.
Mazda made a lot of running changes on models so its hard to define what series had what features 100% correctly.
Does anyone know the build dates of the finale cars?

Hey Guys,

Looking for a little clarification on my RX-7.

Build plate says:
Model: SA22C
Paint: K3
Build Date: SEPT 84
Vehicle ID NO: SA22C-703193

however on the 1st page of the post the build numbers look way out for what I have stamped!! Any body got any ideas???

Its one owner before me and only has 143k on it but has sunroof, full electrics, 5SPDM, bumper indicators, 205/60/R14.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

When I compiled the info I used info from Mazda Australia but I agree it seems incorrect at times. Best bet is to email Mazda Australia via their website and they'll give you quite a bit of info on your car... When it was sold, dealership date etc.

After doing a ton of research on rx3 chassis numbers it became clear mazda pre allocated a chassis range for different markets so jap imports should fall outside the numbers shown on page 1.
Not sure if its a WA only thing but we recieved jap import series 2s as well as the more common series 1s.
Im assuming any jap car is a savanna pls correct me if im wrong.
I recently bought a jap car that is a very early S2 1980 build yet came with a factory S3 style sunroof  and has factory vinyl headlining .Everything else looks fairly aus apart from the jap stickers and what i was told is a flare holder on passengers kick trim. Did other states get the S2 jap imports.Chassis number is SA22C1602**

Yea it has the 180km dash and arial in the windscreeen, only thing is tho I thought the s1 savanna had a twin crime strip on the door card. ( correct me if I'm wrong).
That's just a pick off the net but I have the same interior.

Cheers.

You can email Mazda Australia and they'll tell that plus the dealers name/location when it was sold new.
