Well if you are not in NZ, then that car has spent some time there as that is an alloy Vin ribbon plate issued to any car imported into NZ after 1994. It will still have the factory chassis number up on the firewall, from memory the last 6 numbers should match against the NZ Vin.

does anyone about different factory front guards on a fc?
coz i bought 3 guards from a guy, and never payed much attension to them but when i was looking at them one seem 2 come out more than the others.. i thought they have been lipped but there standard.

i measured them up and there 25mm wider! they are not alloy as suggested as infini front guards .

also the rubber pin stripe are different s4 usually has it in the centre n s5 is towards the bottom, but this is just flat no groove in the rubber pin stripe.

i assume they are later model or last of the fc models, intrested in getting another one to match but not sure what to look for any info on what model or where it comes from would help.

thanx.

Shown on the specifications chart in a Series 4 brochure.
Will try and add couple of pics soon so you can confirm for yourself.

Rx7 Series 4 Turbo :

Maximum Power - 133 KW @ 6500 rpm.
Maximum Torque - 247 Nm @ 3500 rpm.

Non Turbo :
Maximum Power - 110 KW @ 6500 rpm.
Maximum Torque - 194 Nm @ 3500 rpm.

Had to take pics with camera, should be clear enough.
Shown for confirmation of being for Series 4.
Added another pic from same brochure confirming its for Series 4.
Note the tail lights + black non colour coded side moulding, etc.
This is actualy an Australian printed/market brochure.

EDIT: Disregard the "rx7 fc3s" written under pics, thats just the
folder title of where pics were put when uploading from camera to
"my pictures" - (folder for my fc3s project pics)

fc3s turbo diagrams

Here's an interesting comparison between an oil-cooled turbo, which is a turbo without coolant lines attached to it, and a water-cooled turbo which does have coolant lines. This is a study Mazda did when developing their turbo 13B rotary engine for the 1987 and later Rx-7.

The "temperature of metal" is presumably the bearing housing. In this chart the temperature is the same with the oil and water cooled turbos until the ignition shuts off. Then the oil cooled turbo shoots up in temperature, with a max of 150C/302F temperature difference between oil and water cooled. There's also remarks here about the coolant reducing oil deterioration. After shutdown the coolant lines cool the bearings through a process called thermal siphoning, explained here on an Ford Ecoboost engine:

early aus cars are pre the US VIn standard and thus have less numbers that do not indicate anything but sequential production order

there is a batch of the late 85/early 86 6p cars in perth and those will be Vin Fc1031-10004xx
i have seen one with a #3xx code .. and these are november 85 Vin ... indicating that the first 1 is a check digit ,, and these WA cars are in the first 500 ever made .. quality of assembly on these particular cars is very high ,, and there is small detail changes in some of them
( surprisingly the #3xx had the s5 centre light in rear panel ,, and doesnt look like a Vin swap to me )

as for E model,, not sure what your refering to there,,, but does this particular E come with wind up windows and no PS?
